What to capture
- Close-ups of the substance and floor shine
- Warning cones (or their absence) nearby
- Shoe soles and clothing stains
- Checkout receipts showing time stamps when available
Tracking “how long was it there?”
Constructive notice arguments often hinge on whether a spill existed long enough that reasonable inspections should have found it. Dirt tracks through a spill, dried edges, or employee statements can speak to timing.
